How to greet Someone?

Someone Who is elder to you, family, or person who is senior to you:-

Good Morning:

  1. Good Morning, Grandpa! => गुड मॉर्निंग, दादाजी !
  2. Good Morning, Dad! => गुड मॉर्निंग, पिताजी !
  3. Good Morning, Sir! => गुड मॉर्निंग,  महोदय !

Good Afternoon:

  1. Good Afternoon, Grandma! => शुभ दोपहर, दादी !
  2. Good Afternoon, Mummy! => शुभ दोपहर, माँ !
  3. Good Afternoon, Dear! => शुभ दोपहर, प्रिय !

Good Evening:

  1. Good Evening, Uncle! => शुभ संध्या, अंकल !
  2. Good Evening, Auntie => शुभ संध्या,  आंटी !
  3. Good Evening, Dear! => शुभ संध्या, प्रिय !

Good Night:

  1. Good Night, Brother! => भाई शुभ रात्रि !
  2. Good Night, Mom! => शुभ रात्रि मां !
  3. Good Night, Sweet Dreams! => शुभ रात्रि, मीठे सपने!

When you leave someone at any time from morning to evening:

  1. Good day to you, sir! => आपका दिन अच्छा हो श्रीमान!
  2. Good day, sir! => शुभ दिवस श्रीमान!

When you meet someone

  1. Pleased to meet you! => आपसे मिलकर खुशी हुई!

Informal Greetings ( To friends, colleagues, co-workers):-

  1. Hi Ram! => नमस्ते राम!
  2. Hi Sita! => नमस्ते सीता!
  3. Hello Uncle! => नमस्ते चाचा !
  4. Hi Uncle! => नमस्ते चाचा!

Note: If someone ( here uncle)  is close enough to you then you can use hi, hello with them even if one is elder than you.

When you are leaving someone

  1. Goodbye, children! => अलविदा बच्चे!
  2. Bye-bye! => अलविदा!
  3. Farewell, dear! => विदाई, प्रिय!
  4. Bye, see you! => अलविदा फिर मिलेंगे!
